The Best Diablo 4 Runes: All Runewords and Their Effects
In Diablo 4, runes and runewords make a return, offering players an exciting and strategic way to enhance their builds. This feature, reminiscent of Diablo 2, allows you to combine runes into runewords and socket them into your gear for powerful buffs and abilities. While this mechanic wasn’t available at launch, the Vessel of Hatred DLC brings it to life, adding a new layer of customization and depth to the game.
What Are Diablo 4 Runes and Runewords?
Runes and runewords in Diablo 4 are a classic feature reimagined. You can combine different runes to create powerful runewords, which can be inserted into socketed items, granting additional buffs, spellcasting boosts, and other abilities.
However, this time around, the system has a unique twist. Unlike in Diablo 2, where diablo 4 runes sale were combined in a linear way, Diablo 4 introduces two types of runes: Ritual and Invocation. These runes work together in pairs to activate powerful effects and buffs. For example, the Ritual Rune may trigger an action, like casting a skill, and then provide you with Offering—which is consumed by an Invocation Rune to trigger an effect, such as increased Critical Strike chance.
